Shane Logan will pull double duty title defenses in 2025. Besides aiming to keep his Best In The Desert Motorcycle Open Pro crown, he has joined forces with HERO Racing to help that team secure a second SCORE Pro Moto Unlimited championship in as many years.

“We’re excited to welcome Shane Logan to the team as we gear up to defend the 1x plate,” wrote team boss Giovanni Spinali on Sunday. “With Shane joining us, we’re ready to enhance our efforts and help him defend the N1 plate in the Best in the Desert series as well.

“This new chapter promises an incredible year ahead, and we can’t wait to make history together!”

Logan reunites with HERO’s lead rider Arturo Salas Jr., who previously worked with him on Juan Carlos Salvatierra’s team. With Salvatierra, Logan won the 2023 Baja 1000 before doing a limited slate in 2024, finishing third at the Baja 400 but retiring from the 1000.

He fills the void left by Carter Klein, who departed HERO in December to focus on his day job. Coincidentally, Klein was also part of Salvatierra’s 2023 Baja 1000-winning team; Klein traded off the bike with Logan in the closing miles, the latter bringing it to victory as well as the SCORE Unlimited title.

Klein, Salas, and Ciaran Naran won the San Felipe 250 and Baja 500, then strung together a pair of seconds at the Baja 400 and Baja 1000 to secure the Pro Moto Unlimited championship. 2024 was HERO’s first season in SCORE’s highest level after moving up from Pro Moto 50.

In BITD, Logan edged out Hayden Hintz for the MC Open Pro title by just one point, the closest points battle of any class in 2024. He began the season by winning the Golden State 250, then finished second at the Silver State 300 and third in the Vegas to Reno. Although Hintz won the season-ending Laughlin Desert Classic to Logan’s third, the latter result was dropped as it was his worst performance of the season.
