It might be unknown if Stone Cold Steve Austin appears at WrestleMania 41, but at least him being in Las Vegas this spring is a certainty.
On Monday, Austin was named grand marshal for the Mint 400. He was already scheduled to compete in the Mint’s Limited Race on March 7, but his new role means he will wave the green flag for the Unlimited Race the day after. Austin will also host other events leading up to race weekend like the vehicle parade on the Las Vegas Strip and Off-Road Festival on Fremont Street.
“I am excited to be asked to be grand marshal as well as to be competing at the Mint 400,” Austin stated. “It has been a goal of mine to race the Mint since I first got introduced to off-road racing. The Great American Off-Road Race is going to be very special, and that’s the bottom line, ’cause Stone Cold said so!’
Austin has been doing desert racing since 2023, a year after his latest WWE match at WrestleMania 38. An ambassador for Kawasaki, he races a Teryx KRX 1000 in Nevada-based desert series like VORRA and the Legacy Racing Association. He won the 2024 VORRA Sportsman UTV championship, never finishing lower than second in class and winning thrice.
While a total knee replacement kept him out of the driver’s seat for much of winter, he resumed driving in January with the goal of racing the Mint. In the Limited Race, Austin will compete in the UTV Pro NA class.
