Shelby Hall Off-Road has expanded into competitive racing, where its debut will take place at the Mexican 1000 in April. SHO’s namesake and owner will race a Ford Bronco DR with a livery honoring Bill Stroppe, who built Broncos for her grandfather Rod Hall in his early career.

SHO is Hall’s personal brand and a firm that organizes off-road driving schools and off-roading experiences. When racing, she typically uses the SHO banner or Bronco Racing due to her partnership with Ford.

Hall explained on Monday that the effort to turn SHO into a full-fledged racing team was a five-year process. Liberty Firearms Institute, a shooting range in Johnstown, Colorado, is the team’s primary sponsor.

For NORRA, she will race a Bronco DR in the Evolution Heavy Metal class with Brady Melin as co-driver. It is built atop a four-door 2022 Bronco with a Coyote five-liter V8 and Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve dampers from Multimatic.

“Honoring the legends before us, our Ford Bronco DR is wearing a Stroppe-inspired livery, capturing the essence of where it all began while injecting the young blood and technology of today,” wrote Hall.

The Hall family is desert racing royalty. Rod raced 50 straight Baja 1000s and is the go-to name on any off-road Mount Rushmore, while his son and Shelby’s uncle Chad is currently a factory and test driver for Chevrolet. Shelby’s father Josh is the oldest son of Rod. Chad and Josh recently ran the Mint 400, sharing a Spec truck in the Unlimited Race on Saturday.

Hall is a three-time class winner at the Baja 1000, and has also won the 2020 Rebelle Rally in X-Cross and the 2024 SNOER Battle at Primm. While much of her racing is in the Bronco, she also races a Wildcat XX UTV.

The 2025 NORRA Mexican 1000 will run from April 24 to May 2.
