Robby Gordon will compete in SCORE’s season opener for the first time in four years, sharing the #5 Geiser Trophy Truck for RPM Racing with Clyde Stacy.
Gordon last raced San Felipe in 2021, where he finished 13th overall and 12th for Trophy Trucks. He ran the full season that year, finishing sixth in TT points with a best run of seventh at the Baja 1000.
Since then, his desert racing has mostly been in series like NORRA, Best In The Desert, and UNLTD. His focus as of late have been on developing his SPEED UTV brand and supporting his son Max’s career, while also continuing to run the Stadium Super Trucks when possible.
In January, he finished second at the UNLTD season-opening Parker 400. Both Gordons shared the legendary Black Diamond Trophy Truck with its owner Mark Post, and they will once again drive the truck at the Mexican 1000 in April. Max was also the fastest in his class at Mint 400 qualifying earlier in March, followed by him and Robby placing tenth in UTV Pro Turbo in the Limited Race. The older Gordon has also expressed interest in doing the Taklimakan Rally in China again in May, where he finished ninth last year.
His most recent SCORE appearance was the 2023 Baja 400, where he and Stacy finished runner-up in Trophy Truck Legends and 49th overall.
Stacy co-owns RPM Off-Road and is a close friend of Gordon. Under the RPM banner, Gordon won the 2012 BITD Class 1500 title in a campaign that included winning the Mint 400.
TT qualifying for the San Felipe 250 will take place on April 3 followed by the race two days later. Gordon won the 1996 SF 250.
San Felipe will be the first of three major races on Gordon’s schedule for April. The SST season opener at Long Beach takes place the following week on April 11–13, while the Mexican 1000 runs from April 24 to May 2.
