Polaris will be among the companies giving cash rewards as part of SCORE’s largest contingency pot ever. The UTV manufacturer is offering a combined $105,000 to the top three UTVs overall at each race, including a $25,000 prize for whomever is the fastest at the Baja 1000.
“We have a really, really solid contingency plan,” said Alex Scheuerell, director of Polaris Off-Road Motorsports, during Polaris’ 2025 SCORE press conference on Tuesday. “We’re excited about the opportunity with SCORE.”
Polaris is currently the top UTV brand in SCORE, if not off-road racing in general, with its RZR Factory Racing team having won the last two Pro UTV Open titles as well as being the top UTV in nearly every SCORE race since debuting in 2023. Now, the team’s goal for the 2025 season is to build upon its successes by aiming for 1–2–3–4 finishes with its roster or other affiliated drivers.
Thus, the prize money is up for grabs to incentivize everyone into giving the team some competition.
Those who finish top three in a Polaris RZR Pro R Factory, the same model used by the factory team and is now available for customers, will also earn what Scheurell described as a “kicker bonus”: a 50% bonus credit that can be used to buy OEM parts from Polaris Engineering or Scanlon Clarke Incorporated.
“We want to make sure we take care of our customers who are buying these Pro R Factories and and giving them more incentive to go race,” he continued. “Really excited, really excited about the past two years and and excited to kick off the 2025 season here with SCORE.”
The season begins on April 5 with the San Felipe 250; RZR Factory Racing’s Cayden MacCachren was the fastest UTV at the latest edition. The UTV winner for the 2025 race earns $10,000 from Polaris.
SCORE’s contingency for 2025 totals up to $1.6 million. Fox Racing has the largest purse of $300,000, with $20,000 going to the overall truck or open-wheel winner at San Felipe.
