The Segway Super Villain SX20T, the company’s newest UTV, will make its competition debut at Best In The Desert’s Silver State 300 in May. The entry will be fielded by Segway Powersports and Segway Factory Racing in partnership with Evolution Powersports.

“From the moment we began testing, we were impressed by the platform’s potential,” commented Evolution (EVP) cofounder Todd Zuccone. “With our performance tuning and race experience, we’re confident we can deliver a strong showing at the Silver State 300.”

The SX20T was unveiled in 2023, coming in gasoline and hybrid models. The former features a two-liter, four-cylinder gasoline direct injection engine that produces 235 horsepower, a top speed of 150 km/h and 380 Nm of torque. It is also capable of two- and four-wheel drive and uses a seven-speed automatic transmission. This version will also be the first to come out, expected to be released later in 2025.

The hybrid version uses a 335-hp motor that obviously relies on electric power as well. In January, the hybrid SX20T won the Vehicle Tech award at the Consumer Electronics Show.

EVP is a UTV, ATV, and watercraft aftermarket parts manufacturer that previously worked with Segway to develop such components for the Villain SX10. Zuccone is the defending BITD UTV Super Stock champion.

“Partnering with Evolution Powersports is a major step forward,” added Segway Powersports marketing director Gabriel Cruz. “The Super Villain SX20T represents a new era of performance and innovation in powersports. With EVP’s elite expertise, we’re confident we’ll be able to demonstrate what this machine is truly capable of.”

A driver lineup was not immediately revealed.

While Segway is commonly associated with the two-wheeled personal mobility devices, it also has a motorsports division. Most customers who race the SX10 do so in cross-country rallies like the FIA Baja Cups. In January, Segway fielded three electric motorcycles in the Dakar Rally’s Mission 1000 category.

Scheduled for May 8–10, the Silver State 300 is the second round of the 2025 BITD season.
