Rising star Tobias Ebster has finally earned his break. Hero MotoSports announced Ebster’s signing on Monday, officially making him a factory rider.
Ebster is the current World Rally-Raid Championship leader in Rally2, finishing second in class at the Dakar Rally and third in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. The year before, he won Original by Motul in his Dakar debut.
He departed BAS World KTM Racing Team, which supports privateers, on Friday.
“Tobias brings both talent and heart to the team and will play a significant role in elevating our performance further,” reads a statement from Hero. “He joins his team mates – Ross Branch and Nacho Cornejo, to complete our powerful trio for the 2025 season and will make his Hero debut later this month at the South African Safari Rally.”
His new colleague Branch is the reigning champion in the premier RallyGP class, while José Ignacio Cornejo is currently sixth in the category’s standings after two races. Ebster’s arrival fills the void left by Sebastian Bühler, who left Hero on Friday after a five-year stint.
