The 2025 Rallye Breslau has “over 30” competitors under the age of 25. Besides making those of us born before 2000 feel old, they’re also the future of cross-country rally.

For that reason, race organizer RBI Sport has launched RBI Next Gen Racers, a development program dedicated to helping young competitors dip their feet into the rally world. This includes direct tutoring for racing as well as media skills, more emphasis on their careers, and creating a “supportive environment where passion, discipline, and skill can thrive.”

“We strongly believe that the young generation is the future of our sport,” RBI boss Alexander Kovatchev stated. “It’s our responsibility as organizers to provide them not only with opportunities to compete, but with the tools, mentorship, and visibility they need to grow into tomorrow’s champions.”

The 2006-born Jenne Jasper, Jens Ockers, Sam Marsden, and Ralph Muller are the youngest competitors in the field. Despite his youth, Jasper finished second in class at RBI Sport’s season-opening Baja Europe in May. Marsden is the son of Ultra4 Europe star and Breslau favorite Jim Marsden.

RBI Next Gen Racers were the top two Enduro bikes in the Prologue on Sunday as Jeremy Knuiman (born 2002) led Justin Gerlach (2001). Gerlach is a friend of 131 Off-Road who made his Dakar Rally debut in January, where he became the youngest German rider to complete the race.

25 years old is also the benchmark used by the FIM for the Junior Trophy, which is given to the best rider below 25 at each World Rally-Raid Championship and FIM Bajas World Cup event.
