Bikes will indeed be at the NORRA 500 in October. On Tuesday, NORRA confirmed motorcycles have been added to the 500’s program and will race on their own course separate from the cars.

The NORRA 500 dropped bikes in 2022 due to low participation, leaving the Mexican 1000 in April as the sanctioning body’s only event with them. In recent times, there was a renewed interest in bringing them back.

In June, NORRA bike director Jimmy Lewis issued a challenge: if the 500 could get at least ten bikes signed up by September 1, he’ll get to work on drafting the roadbooks and course. As of Tuesday’s news, 11 have registered with three in Amateur Rally, three more in Rally GPS, another trio in 60+ including SCORE’s bike liaison Andy Kirker, and one apiece for XR 650 and Vintage Moto.

The GPS class is a new addition for riders who don’t want to use a roadbook to navigate. Those in this category will ride on a slightly different course.

The 2025 NORRA 500 will take place on October 9–12. Bikes appeared at the inaugural race in 2019 and the 2021 edition.
