Off-road star Brian Deegan is heading back to Crandon International Raceway on Labor Day weekend, where he will once again pilot a Pro 2 truck in the Red Bull World Cup. Like in 2024, Ryan Beat Motorsports will prepare his truck.
Beat confirmed Deegan’s return on the August 6 episode of his Behind the Beat Podcast.
“The Deegs coming back,” Beat remarked. “He’s going to run Crandon in the old Pro 2 and then we’ll test him a little over a week before the race at Crandon.”
He finished 19th at the 2024 Red Bull World Cup, his first short course start since the 2021 Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run also at Crandon.
Deegan is one of the most decorated motorized athletes in X Games history with 16 total medals, including a gold each in motocross and rallycross. He started racing short course in 2009 in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, where he won six championships (three each in Pro Lite—2009, 2011, 2013—and Pro 2—2011, 2012, 2014). He’s also competed in TORC and Championship Off-Road, as well as the Red Bull Frozen Rush.
In rallycross, he was the 2012 Global Rallycross Supercar points runner-up and placed third in the 2016 standings. Deegan has dabbled in Nitrocross and FIA European Rallycross too.
While certainly still racing from time to time, most of his focus these days is on supporting his kids’ own racing careers. His daughter Hailie also won class titles in LOORRS before going on to race in NASCAR and currently Indy NXT. Son Haiden is one of the hottest young stars in motocross as a factory rider for Yamaha.
R/BM fields trucks in Pro 2, Pro SPEC, and Pro Lite. Beat is currently second in the Pro 2 standings as is Wyatt Miller in Pro SPEC, while Gray Leadbetter sits fifth in Pro Lite. Madix Bailey joined the team for the most recent weekend at Bark River, where he won Race 1 for Pro Lite. Beat’s daughter Raegan also races under the R/BM banner in Short Course Kart.
The Red Bull World Cup and Crandon World Championship Races will take place on August 28–31.
