After being sidelined by injury since April, Dakar Rally winner Yazeed Al-Rajhi will make his racing comeback at next weekend’s Baja TT Sharish Gin.

Al-Rajhi fractured two of his vertebrae in a rollover while competing in the Jordan Baja in April, while his navigator Timo Gottschalk had four spinal fractures. Gottschalk has also since been cleared to return.

The injury prevented the pair from racing the W2RC’s South African Safari Rally, which dropped Al-Rajhi from second in points to fifth. They also missed the FIA World Baja Cup’s Baja Greece, Italian Baja, and Baja Aragón.

Their 2025 season had started with a bang when they won the Dakar Rally in January followed by the Saudi Baja a few weeks later. They finished 12th in Ultimate at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.

Al-Rajhi’s team confirmed his return on Friday, posting a video to social media that leaned into the Transformers (2007) ending.

The Baja TT Sharish Gin will take place on September 11–14.
