For the 2026 Dakar Rally, Egbert Wingens’ IVECO Torpedo will be adorned in the turquoise and red of Rebellion Spierings. DDW Rallyteam and Rebellion Spierings announced their new partnership on Friday.
Wingens is usually tasked with assistance vehicle duties, and his trucks are thus classified as T5.2. That isn’t to say he doesn’t race himself; in April, he finished third in T5.1 for competition trucks at the Morocco Desert Challenge.
At the 2024 Dakar, Wingens drove a MAN service truck for Boucou Compétition. He would have entered it with his DDW IVECO, but took over the MAN from Pascal de Baar when the latter filled in for an injured Martin Šoltys at Buggyra.
Wingens will drive the #617 with his wife Marije van Ettekoven as navigator and Marijn Beekmans as mechanic.
A joint effort between Rebellion Racing and Dakar Team Spierings, Rebellion Spierings fields the Taurus T3 Max in the Challenger class for owners Paul Spierings and Alexandre Pesci.
