The 2026 Dakar Classic hasn’t gone the way P-Rally and wanted for their Porsche 954, so they hope their duo of 911s will fare better next year. Both cars are built by students of Akademii P-Rally.

Akademii P-Rally (“Academy P-Rally”) is a school set up by team owner and driver Tomasz Staniszewski to help teenagers get into motorsports. Students ranged from nine to 20 years of age, while the “curriculum” was simply the team gathering everyone whenever possible on “a dozen or so Saturday evenings” to build Porsches. Their first project was fully restoring a 1978 Porsche 911 SC, followed by a 911 Safari.

Eventually, Staniszewski had the idea to have the students build a pair of 911s for the 2027 Classic. One of the students was also invited to work with the team at the 2026 race, while Staniszewski is open to having a pupil potentially race the other 911.

“I believe that someday a young, ambitious pilot will go to the desert with us. I’m working on training kids in this direction in the future,” he told Christophorus.

In the meantime, his focus is on driving his 1985 Porsche 954 at the Classic. Unfortunately, his race was upended by a driveshaft failure on the first day that sidelined him for the next four stages as he waited for a replacement. He finished fourth in the 2025 edition.
