The Baja Morocco and Casteu Trophy have formed a new partnership for 2026, both parties announced on Tuesday.
When the Casteu Trophy takes place on March 23–27, the winner with no prior rally experience will earn a free entry for the Baja Morocco. The latter race will be September, though a specific date has not been finalized.
The Casteu Trophy is an enduro-style race overseen by David Casteu, a rally veteran who also runs his own team. He recently competed in last month’s Dakar Rally in the SSV class, but didn’t finish.
Casteu himself has described the Casteu Trophy as being a blend of enduro and Dakar.
Team Casteu Trophy also fields SSVs and bikes at Dakar and various national rallies in Morocco, including the Baja Morocco. Bertrand Donnet and Alexandre Vaudan respectively finished fourth and seventh for bikes in the 2025 edition.
The Baja Morocco, on the other hand, includes cars and SSVs as well. It is a more classic rally raid through the Moroccan desert.
Both races describe their collaboration as “a partnership driven by the same desire to pass on, support, and help grow the new generation of rally raid.”
