Alexa Barth, the first woman to become a Force Recon Marine, will make her Mint 400 debut in March. Competing for Warfighter Made, she will share the #384 KTM with returning riders and fellow Marines Dan Stoner and Jesse Williamson.
Then a lance corporal, Barth graduated from the 12-week Marine Corps Reconnaissance Training in 2019. Recon, as were combat roles in general, had only just opened up to women six years prior.
After completing her training, she served in the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion as a sniper and pointman (the lead squad member on patrol). Barth was also part of the I Marine Expeditionary Force in Marine Rotational Force–Southeast Asia.
Warfighter Made typically brings a bike team to the Mint alongside their Flyer and Humvee, the latter two competing in the Limited Race’s Vintage Military class. All team personnel are veterans, many with disabilities like prostheses. Stoner and Williamson, for example, have prosthetic legs.
At the 2025 Mint’s Motorcycle Race, Stoner and Williamson were joined by Army veteran Mitch Melott. Nicknamed Big Iron as a nod to their legs, the team finished tenth in Over 30 Sportsman despite Williamson losing his left prosthesis on his stint.
V.E.T.T.S. In Motorsports and Baja Bound Moto will service the bike in March’s race.
