AMA’s hare & hound series have joined forces for 2025, combining their schedules to form the inaugural Offroad Masters Championship.

The AMA National Hare & Hound Championship is contributing nine dates to the 15-round calendar, including the final three events. AMA Regional West Hare Scrambles, its six-race sister series, will kick off the slate in January with the Diamond Back Hare Scramble from the Lassen Motorcycle Club.

Jericho and Lucerne Valley, respectively organized by the Sage Riders Motorcycle Club and Desert MC, are the only locations with repeat dates.

Given both series are in the same region and do not have standalone dates separate from Offroad Masters, it is possible for a rider who can afford the trip to all three titles in a single season.

Offroad Masters is designed to test a rider’s versatility. Despite their similar names and both being popular in the Western United States, hare & hound offers a slightly different flavor of off-road motorcycle racing from hare scrambles.

Hare & hound predominantly takes place in open deserts, where the format consists of a point-to-point run or two loops totaling at least 60 miles. A hare scramble, on the other hand, uses closed courses spanning 10 to 15 miles like trails and forests.

Both the National Hare & Hound and West Hare Scrambles are overseen by the National Hare & Hound Association.
