CFMOTO Thunder Racing Team will upgrade from the standard CFORCE 1000 to the CFORCE 1000 Overland Racing model for the 2025 season.

As the name suggests, the Overland Racing is a sports variant of the CFORCE 1000 Overland. The former is slightly larger at 96.25 inches (2,445 millimeters) long by 53.62 inches wide (1,362 mm) and 57.67 inches high (1,465 mm), while its counterpart measures in at 92″ by 50″ by 53″. It also has a larger fuel tank that carries 45 liters (11.88 gallons) compared to the Overland’s 26 liters (6.9 gallons).

Both feature a 963cc, V-twin four-stroke engine that is liquid cooled, single overhead camshaft, and has eight valves; however, the base model’s engine produces 84 horsepower whereas the racing edition is capable of 105 hp.

The Overland Racing utilizes shocks from TFX Suspension, a 1.7-kilogram Dynavolt lithium battery, a continuously variable transmission from Vauhti Varikko, and an Iron Baltic skid plate.

CFMOTO Thunder Racing Team ran nearly the entire W2RC schedule in 2024, skipping the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge due to Houthi attacks on shipping that disrupted transport as well as the Desafío Ruta 40. Antanas Kanopkinas finished fifth in Quad at the Dakar Rally, the first and only time that CFMOTO contested the race, before the team was second and third at the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid with Kanopkinas and Gaëtan Martinez. Kanopkinas secured CFMOTO’s maiden W2RC victory at the Rallye du Maroc.

Outside of the W2RC, the team enters amateur rallies in Europe like the Hellas Rally Raid and Rallye Breslau.

The team plans to enter the Overland Racing in most of the 2025 W2RC. However, it will not be at Dakar as the ASO has dropped Quads from the Dakar program.
