The new Honda CRF450RX Rally now receives kit parts from Honda Racing Corporation, an arrangement between HRC and RedMoto that began Monday.
In essence, the CRF450RX Rally is a rally replica version of the CRF450 Rally used by Monster Energy HRC in the World Rally-Raid Championship. Revealed in December, the replica model entered January’s Dakar Rally with Jacob Argubright, who finished 12th in Rally2. 50 units were produced for 2025.
HRC provided kit parts to six RS Moto riders at Dakar including Argubright and Paolo Lucci. Satisfied with the results, HRC approached RedMoto, who oversees Honda’s factory program in the EnduroGP World Championship, to assemble the parts for the CRF450RX.
Honda stated the parts were designed around “a vehicle that can deliver high performance in the world’s toughest rally race, and that aims to help riders from privateers to top riders to finish the race together.”
One of the main components provided by HRC is the aluminum frame, which is based on a motocross bike and is similar to the CRF450’s. It also supplies the navigation tower, which is made from carbon fiber reinforced polymer and whose roadbook holder is adjustable, and the suspension with a modified spring rate to allow for custom damper settings.
The CRF450RX Rally uses a six-speed transmission and has a 450cc liquid cooled engine. It also carries more fuel than the CRF450 Rally with 36 liters combined among the two tanks at the front and one at the back.
HRC plans to provide more support for riders at the Rallye du Maroc in October. To better streamline the service process, the company has also “begun considering collaboration with leading rally teams and will support riders in both hardware and software.”
