Trey Hernquist is back in the Stadium Super Trucks, this time arriving with a Baja 1000 crown atop his head.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back out there and banging some doors with everyone,” wrote Hernquist on Wednesday.

Hernquist won Class 5 Unlimited at last November’s Baja 1000. The 1000 is typically his only SCORE race of the year, though he enters other events throughout the calendar like NORRA and SNORE.

He made his SST debut at Long Beach in 2023. Racing the Continental Tire truck, he finished eighth and seventh in the two races. Hernquist also entered the series’ other round at Nashville, placing seventh in both to end the year seventh in points.

Long Beach was his only SST start in 2024. He led the opening laps of Race #1 before falling, trading blows with Myles Cheek before settling for his maiden top-five finish in fifth. He followed up with a sixth the next day.

Mainly a desert racer, Hernquist won the 2020 SCORE Class 5 title and Baja 500. He also topped his class at the 2023 Mint 400.

The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach will take place on April 11–13.
