The Ultimate Rally Classic has been postponed to March 2026. Created by TL’O, it is a historic rally raid intended for vehicles built between 1976 and 2000.

Race organizer Pascal François released the following statement on Monday:

Hello everyone,

After consulting with the team members, we have taken the decision to postpone the first edition of the Ultimate Rally Classic to March 2026, with a new cloverleaf format around Merzouga and M’Hamid. We have heard and taken into account your needs in terms of logistics, finances, and time available for your leisure. An organization must know how to listen to future competitors and their desires. We look forward to seeing you in March 2026. Until then, I wish you a great 2025 season full of sporting adventure.

The race was created in October by TL’O and François, who had previously founded the Pioneers Classic. Also known as the Pionniers Classic in its native French, it is also a historic rally raid that takes place in Morocco.

Initially, the plan for the inaugural URC was to run from late October 2025 to early November as a 12-day event. It would have began with a ceremonial start in Montauban, France before crossing the Mediterranean into Morocco. Upon landing in Nador, the race would go through Boudnib, Foum Zguid, Aouinet Lahna, Laayoune, Assa, Tissint, and finish in Zagora. In total, the route was 1,875.96 kilometers in selective sections.

As noted in Monday’s announcement, the revised route will solely be in Morocco with multiple loops.

It is promoted as an “ultimate ’80s rally raid experience” with paper roadbooks, no GPS, and a traditional time-based format. Each timed stage would have spanned roughly 220 to 350 kilometers.

Cars would be divided into multiple categories (U1 through U6) based on when they were produced and attributes like their power (gasoline or diesel) and if they are 2WD or 4WD. A “guest” class was also entertained for those built after 2000.
