Bradley Cox has parted ways with BAS World KTM Racing Team and the KTM brand as a whole after spending virtually his entire career with the manufacturer. He announced his departure on Thursday, which the team confirmed Monday.
“From his first rally to becoming Rally 2 World Champion, Bradley’s progression has been nothing short of impressive,” begins a team statement. “As he takes a new step in his career, we would like to thank him for the dedication and talent he brought to the BAS World KTM Racing Team. Bradley, we wish you all the best!”
Cox began his riding career on a 50cc KTM bike in his youth, having connections to the brand via his father and KTM factory rider Alfie. He competed in motocross with KTM, winning five national titles in South Africa, before joining BAS World for his rally raid debut in 2021.
He exclusively raced a KTM 450 Rally throughout the next four years in the W2RC. In 2024, he won the Rally2 championship with victories at the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal and Rallye du Maroc.
His final rally in orange, the Dakar Rally in January, was cut short by a crash in Stage 6. It was his first time competing in the premier RallyGP class. Due to a neck injury he sustained in the accident, he did not race the W2RC’s next round in Abu Dhabi.
Cox did not immediately announce his next stop. The third round of the W2RC, the South African Safari Rally on his home soil, is scheduled for May 18–24.
