Konrad Dąbrowski is chasing the World Rally-Raid Championship in Rally2, but his pursuit might be a bit murkier than hoped. In an interview with Autokult, he revealed that although he plans to run the full season, entering the upcoming South African Safari Rally has technically not been finalized because of the high costs for logistics.

“The plan to start all the rounds of the World Championship, but we don’t know if we will manage to do it,” Dąbrowski told Autokult. “This is because of the rally in South Africa, which is the most expensive. It’s not confirmed yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we can manage.

“We’ve already done two rounds, Dakar and Abu Dhabi, and there are Africa, Portugal, and Morocco left. The last two are easy for European riders logistically, so I will definitely enter those. I’ll be fighting again for the World Cup in Juniors and a podium in the Rally2 classification.”

Dąbrowski is currently fourth in the Rally2 standings after two rounds, trailing Tobias Ebster by 12 points. The 23-year-old finished seventh in the season-opening Dakar Rally before placing runner-up at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.

In 2024, he won the Rally2 Junior Trophy for riders under 25 with a class victory in Abu Dhabi.

South Africa, scheduled for May 18–24, is a new addition to the W2RC calendar.
