After making his return to short course off-road racing in 2024, Robert Stout has committed to the full Championship Off-Road schedule in the Pro 4 class.
Stout raced Pro 4 at the two Crandon race weekends in 2024, marking his first short course action since he won the 2019 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series’s Production 1000 UTV title. He finished fifth in the first weekend’s points-paying event despite a broken shift actuator before retiring from the Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run. At the Crandon World Championships, he placed eighth in the points race followed by a 15th in the World Cup.
“These trucks are running naturally aspirated V8 engines, making roughly a thousand horsepower, they’re all-wheel drive, it’s the premier class that you want to be in short course off-road racing,” said Stout. “The tracks are roughly a mile to two miles in length, and we’re going to be chasing a full points championship here in Pro 4 this year.”
Stout had been honing his truck driving skills for the past three years in the Stadium Super Trucks. He scored three wins in the series and finished third in the 2021 and 2022 standings.
His off-road experience also includes starts in the Texas Outlaw Series, though his résumé otherwise has primarily been on pavement in sports cars.
On Friday, Stout qualified seventh of the eight Pro 4 trucks ahead of the season opener in Wheatland.
