Vincent Biau is heading back to the Dakar Rally for a second time in 2026, where he will once again compete in the Original by Motul subcategory.
“It’s not an easy decision to make because it requires a lot of commitment in terms of work, energy, preparation, stress, etc.,” wrote Biau on Monday.
“The hardest part about Dakar is getting started—that is, finding enough sponsors. You can count on me; I’ll do my best, and as always, I follow through with my ideas.”
At his Dakar debut in 2024, Biau finished 15th for ObM and 58th for the broader Rally2 class. Besides working on his bike solo due to Malle Moto rules, he was nursing a myriad of injuries that he incurred in crashes throughout the race like a dislocated shoulder and broken ankle and ribs.
He opted not to run the 2025 Dakar and instead entered the Africa Eco Race, competing on a Suzuki V-Strom 800DE. Biau ended up missing three days of racing due to illness, but was able to recover and rejoin the race to finish 13th for 650cc–1000cc bikes.
While he ran the 2024 Dakar on a Husqvarna 450 Rally Replica, Biau added he will be on a different bike for 2026.
