May 3 was International Female Ride Day, a day to celebrate women riders and drivers. To commemorate the occasion, Polaris released a new episode of Tough Doesn’t Quit centering around Fernanda Montiel.

Montiel is the reigning Record Off-road Series champion in UTV, becoming the first Hispanic woman to win a Baja desert championship. She began the 2024 season by being the top UTV at the Rancho La Vuelta 200 then placed third at the Ensenada San Felipe 250 Night Race and the La Raza SQ 200. Another victory at the season-ending Los Flemate King Shocks Ensenada San Felipe 250 iced the title.

The year before that, she finished third in points.

Her episode focuses on her life as one of the top women racers in a male-dominated sport.

Excluding the Defending Dakar series, Montiel is the fourth individual subject of Tough Doesn’t Quit alongside Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg in the pilot, the Wright Family, Brock Heger, and Tavo Vildósola.
