Seth Quintero certainly would’ve liked to be back at Crandon for the Red Bull World Cup. Alas, not this year.

“Wishing I was making a return to Crandon this year,” wrote Quintero on Tuesday, “maybe I should build a short course car and come play”.

The World Rally-Raid Championship driver made his World Cup debut in 2024, piloting a Pro 2 truck from fellow Red Bull athlete Andrew Carlson. A Pro 2 truck is obviously much different from the Toyota Hilux he races in the W2RC, but he still put up a valiant effort in his short course truck debut.

After finishing tenth in Championship Off-Road’s Pro 2 event, Quintero finished 11th in the World Cup proper and as one of the final trucks on the lead lap. He and Brian Deegan were among the guest drivers taking part. Unlike Quintero, Deegan will head back to Crandon this year.

Had he been able to race, Crandon would’ve capped off a busy August back home in America before he shifts his focus back to rally raid. Earlier in the month, he rejoined Polaris for the Vegas to Reno. Sharing a RZR with Ethan Groom, the pair retired after rolling into a ditch.

The W2RC resumes in September with the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid. Quintero currently fourth in points with a ninth at the Dakar Rally, third at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, and seventh at the South African Safari Rally.
