The American Off-Road Racing Championship, a joint effort between UNLTD and Best In The Desert, will host six events across its inaugural season in 2026. It is a combination of races from both sanctioning bodies plus a new “fun run” that won’t count toward the championship.
Two of the dates come from the Unlimited side, including the first two rounds with the Parker 400 in January and the iconic Mint 400. BITD is the host of the Silver State 300, its crown jewel Vegas to Reno, and the finale with the Laughlin Desert Challenge in October.
A racer’s top four results across these five races will be counted in the final points tally.
“In many ways, the 2026 calendar feels like a homecoming. The band is back together,” BITD CEO Bryan Folks stated. “The Parker 425, Mint 400, Silver State 300, Vegas to Reno, and Laughlin Desert Classic once stood side by side as the shared backbone of American desert racing. For racers, teams, and fans who remember that era, seeing these legendary events reunited under one banner brings a sense of nostalgia and continuity, a reminder of Best In The Desert’s roots, and a powerful signal that the future will be stronger alongside UNLTD Off-Road Racing.”
In the middle is the new Vegas to Reno Legends Rally, which will take place a month before the V2R. Rather than a standard race, it is intended to be a multi-day group experience following the V2R course and isn’t a points-paying round.
BITD and Unlimited Off-Road Racing announced the AORRC ahead of this year’s V2R in August, with the Laughlin Desert Classic in October set to be their first race together. UNLTD was going to host the California 300 that same month, but called it off to focus on Laughlin; their Reno 600 that was postponed to 2026 is also not included on the AORRC calendar.
“In just a short time, we’ve made incredible progress and that’s because this is true collaboration,” UNLTD event director Kilian Hamlin offered. “We’re combining strengths, wiping the slate clean, and moving forward together. With the schedule now set, our focus shifts to logistics, building the strongest teams, establishing continuity in processes and procedures, and delivering world-class events that will define the American Off-Road Racing Championship for years to come.”
