Dariusz “Darek” Łysek will compete in the World Rally-Raid Championship for the first time in October when he enters the Rallye du Maroc, driving MM Technology’s new IVECO EVO 4 truck. Like those hell race against, he will use Morocco as a dress rehearsal for the 2026 Dakar Rally. The latter will be his debut at the legendary race.

Łysek has competed in the Rajdowe Mistrzostwa Polski Samochodów Terenowych, Poland’s national cross-country rally championship. He won the 2023 Baja Drawsko Pomorskie in the T5 class as the driver of a MAN TGA.

Darek Rodewald, a fellow Pole and employee at IVECO ally Team de Rooy, and bike rider-turned-navigator Jacek Czachor are also slated to be part of Łysek’s crew.

His EVO 4, nicknamed “Czeslaw” (MM Technology gives monikers to trucks they built), is the newest model from the team. Introduced in 2024, the EVO 4 line helped team owner Martin Macík Jr. defend his Dakar Truck win in January.

In August, MM unveiled Czeslaw and Macík’s new EVO 4—which he dubbed “Joseph”—at the Posedlí Dakarem OPEN AIR 2025 festival in Sedlčany. While fundamentally the same as the Dakar-winning “Benny the Big Guy” EVO 4, there are slight upgrades like the use of digital mirrors, a lesson learned after 120 mirrors had to be changed in total across the nine trucks built by MM.

“I’m thrilled with the warm welcome fans gave Joseph and Czeslaw, and I can’t wait to line them up at the start of a rally for the first time,” Macík commented.

Czeslaw was recently delivered to Łysek in Poland.

The 2025 Rallye du Maroc will take place on October 10–17.
