Jaromír Romančík had an impressive Malle Moto debut at this year’s Dakar Rally, but won’t be able to build upon it in 2026. Cajdašrot Dakar Team announced Tuesday that he will not race the 2026 Dakar due to injuries sustained in a biking accident, which has required him to undergo multiple elbow surgeries.
2025 marked Romančík’s second Dakar. After retiring from his debut in 2024, he switched to Original by Motul since it was the cheapest avenue and he was up for the challenge of racing without any assistance from teams. While competing solo, he still aligned with Cajdašrot for the race.
Romančík scored two top tens among Rally2 riders with a seventh in Stage 4 and sixth three legs later, the latter coming after getting 25 minutes removed from his time via a deleted 15-minute penalty and a ten-minute mulligan because his roadbook glitched out. He was also tops for Malle Moto riders on the fourth, fifth, and seventh stages.
Save for a radiator failure at the start of Stage 8, the rest of the race was relatively clean as he finished third in ObM and 14th for Rally2.
Following the accident, Romančík has been undergoing treatment at Klaudiánova nemocnice in Mladá Boleslav.
Cajdašrot Dakar Team also fields a bike in Rally2 for Dušan Drdaj, who finished eighth in Rally2.
