To celebrate the 40-year anniversary of the first Czech team at the Dakar Rally, PRIM has created a special watch called the PRIM Dakar LIAZ 1985. Only 40 units will be produced.
LIAZ entered the 1985 Paris–Dakar Rally with a pair of LIAZ 100.55 Ds, a #626 piloted by Alain Galland that retired and the #627 of Jiří Moskal that placed 13th in Truck. PRIM’s watch pays tribute to the latter, with the dial being colored the same as the truck in white, yellow, and blue with #627 below the LIAZ logo. At the 12 o’clock mark is the keffiyeh logo of the TSO, the original organizers of the Dakar Rally under Thierry Sabine. There is also a checkered flag pattern on the 6 o’clock position.
On the caseback is an outline of the 1985 Dakar route, the keffiyeh logo, and the same #627 and LIAZ markings. The text includes the names of the #627 crew (Moskal, navigator Jaroslav Joklík, and mechanic Radek Fencl).

The case is made from carbon fiber as a nod to how most race cars nowadays use the material.
The watch has a Ronda 5020.B movement and ten atmospheres of water resistance. Its strap is leather and rubber silicone.
“A remarkable anniversary calls for a remarkable watch,” proclaims PRIM.
The piece was developed over the course of three months with input from Moskal and Joklík; Fencl passed away in 2001. Josef Kakrda, who raced the 1991 Dakar Rally in a LIAZ, was also involved with the creation process.
