On October 25, Happinet will release a 1:20 scale remote-controlled car based on the Mitsubishi Triton that raced the 2024 Asia Cross Country Rally.
The toy measures in at 265 millimeters wide by 120 mm tall and 235 mm in depth (length). It is powered by four AA batteries with a battery life of about 40 minutes of continuous driving, while the 2.4 GHz frequency controller uses two AA batteries.
The Triton has a top speed of eight km/h.
It features a generic #200 (Chayapon Yotha used #103, Katsuhiko Taguchi had #107, and Kazuto Koide was with #137) but otherwise the same livery as that year’s Triton. As an off-road RC car, it is supposed to be durable and both dust (IP5X) and waterproof (IPX6). The truck also has a detachable rear gate.
Ironically, the 2024 AXCR was probably a year to forget for Team Mitsubishi Ralliart. Yotha had been leading comfortably before a mechanical failure knocked him out on the second-to-last day, which resulted in Mana Pornsiricherd from rival Toyota Gazoo Racing Thailand winning.
For 2025, the team regrouped with an upgraded Triton that’s shorter than its predecessor but has more torque and power. This formula worked tremendously as Yotha beat Pornsiricherd for his second AXCR triumph.
The RC Triton has an MSRP of ¥6,028.
