Hoping to appeal to newer users, BRP Inc. revealed a new variant of the Can-Am Defender on Tuesday called the Can-Am Defender DPS CAB HD10 with HVAC. It is set to be released for “select dealers” in early 2026 at an MSRP of USD$23,999.
In contrast with the performance Maverick, the Defender is Can-Am’s utility side-by-side with taskwork in mind (like Polaris with the Ranger). Multiple variations already exist besides the base Defender such as six-wheeled versions and alternative DPS and XT makes. BRP unveiled the 2026 model year in August.
The standard DPS Defender CAB is cheaper than the HD10 with an MSRP of $20,999, but does not have as robust of an HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) system. Both are otherwise the same.
The DPS CAB features a 976cc Rotax V-twin liquid-cooled engine that produces 82 horsepower, which is more powerful than the 650cc HD7 that the regular Defender uses. It is more narrow and shorter, but comes with dynamic power steering.
More prominently, the DPS CAB has a full roof and windows. This includes a fixed windshield with a wiper and washer kit as well as a rear glass window, along with an interior dome light.
“We’re committed to making adventure and utility more accessible to riders everywhere,” Can-Am marketing director Jeremi Doyon-Roch stated. Our new Can-Am Defender DPS CAB HD10 with HVAC package means more people can experience the durability and versatility that’s made it the most unstoppable workhorse in the field.”
Also on Tuesday, BRP revealed a new camouflage livery for the Can-Am Outlander Electric ATV. Known as “Dark Wildland Camo”, the paint scheme is supposed to help hunters blend in while riding.
