Martijn van den Broek hadn’t planned on returning to the Africa Eco Race, but a late withdrawal prompted his 2025 team QFF Racing to ask for his services again.
Van den Broek made his AER debut in 2025, finishing second in SSV and third overall for four-wheelers. He was just two minutes off SSV winner Pierre Lafay.
His entry at the 2025 race was prepared by QFF Racing, the motorsports arm of QFF Eersel in the Netherlands. The team plans to field at least four cars in the 2026 race, with one being for another driver until they had to back out. Needing someone else in the seat, QFF reached out to van den Broek.
“This was something that wasn’t in our plans at all, but it feels all the more special because of it,” van den Broek remarked.
Jan-Paul van de Poel, who navigated in 2025, is unavailable so van den Broek reached out to Mike Daas.
