Josh Bacsi and his brother Caleb are back at King of the Hammers in February, once again competing in the Every Man Challenge as Havoc Racing. This time, they’ll be doing so in custom-built 4800 Legends cars.
The brothers are veterans of the United States Marine Corps who have been deployed to locations like Afghanistan. Josh served as infantry team leader for the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines out of Camp Pendleton.
Of the 21 team members, six are fellow Marine veterans while another is a former Navy sailor.

“King of the Hammers represents everything we trained for in the Marine Corps: mental toughness, physical endurance, and the ability to adapt under extreme pressure,” the brothers stated. “With Nexen Tire’s support and our team’s determination, we’re ready to show what veteran-operated racing is all about. We’ve learned from every setback, and we’re bringing our strongest team and best-prepared vehicles equipped with the best possible tires to Johnson Valley this year.”
The Bacsis are regulars in Ultra4 and the Nor Cal Rock Racing Series for a decade with seven podium finishes in total. They retired from the 2025 Every Man Challenge after running out of time because of a broken axle shaft and alternator that forced them to run back and forth between the pits for replacements.
Havoc Racing and True North are competing in the EMC under the Team Nexen banner. True North is a Canadian outfit led by Sheldon Haynes that will also be in the 4800 Legends class.
“Supporting Havoc Racing and True North Racing allows us to prove our tires’ capabilities at the highest level of off-road competition while demonstrating the durability and performance our customers can trust,” said Nexen Tire America marketing director Theresa Kapper. “We’re proud to stand behind these exceptional teams and wish them success as they take on Johnson Valley’s legendary terrain.”
