The inaugural FIA Rallycross World Cup will take place on December 5ā6 at the Jakarta International e-Prix Circuit, which was previously used to host Formula E.
The World Cup replaces the FIA World Rallycross Championship, which was killed at the end of the 2025 season as European RX became the discipline’s new #1 series. Of course, while this change was because Europe is the main rallycross hotbed, it also shut out overseas entries that can’t make the trip.
Thus, the World Cup was created to fill that void. Although rallycross is a foreign concept for Indonesia, the country currently hosts a round of the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship and has a prominent presence in rally raid with participation in races like the Asia Cross Country Rally and more recently the Dakar Classic.
“Across our FIA championships, World Cup events have proven their ability to deliver accessible, standalone competitions with strong global appeal,” stated FIA head Mohammed Ben Sulayem. “The new FIA Rallycross World Cup will provide fans with a unique opportunity to experience the discipline on the world stage in 2026, bringing together leading drivers from regions around the world.
“While rallycross has its historic heartland in Europe, this debut competition in Indonesia opens the door to greater participation and strengthens the discipline’s global footprint. This is an important step forward for the sport’s continued growth. The future of rallycross is bright.”
Located in the the neighborhood of Ancol, Jakarta International e-Prix Circuit hosted the Jakarta ePrix in 2022, 2023, and 2025. It was the first FIA-overseen racing since A1 Grand Prix competed at Sentul International Circuit in 2006.
Of course, since the track was built for pavement racing, it will undergo renovations for rallycross.
Aseanto Oudang, the CEO of event organizer SARGA.CO, aded, “Hosting the first FIA Rallycross World Cup event in Jakarta is a significant step forward for Indonesia’s sport and entertainment landscape. We are proud to introduce an exciting new experience for fans across the nation through this event.”
