Toni Bou is far and away the greatest trials rider in history, and he’s shown no signs of slowing down. In fact, he seems to be getting even better as the years pass.
By winning Friday round at Chalon-sur-Saône, he clinched the FIM X-Trial World Championship for an absurd 20th time. Bou has won the indoor-based trials championship every year since its inception in 2007, and secured the 2025 title with two races to go.
As seems to be an annual case, Bou dominated the 2025 season despite feeling he wasn’t at 100%. His worst finish was a mere second place in Round 3 at La Réunion, while his Chalon-sur-Saône victory moved him up to 98 career wins. In 128 starts, he’s only finished off the podium 12 times.
He can also hit the 20-title mark on the outdoor side if he wins the TrialGP World Championship, which begins in May. Of course, 40 combined world championships for an individual is unheard of in any motorsport.
