After doing just four FIA European Baja Cup races in the series last year, Benediktas Vanagas has what he calls “unfinished business” in the series. Thus, he plans compete for the 2026 overall title.
He doesn’t have to do all eight races since only six will count for points.
Although Vanagas has been an EBC regular since 2021, he’s never competed full time in the series. He and navigator Aisvydas Paliukėnas finished fourth in the 2025 EBC’s Ultimate standings despite doing just the Italian Baja, Baja Aragón, Hungarian Baja, and Baja Poland. The duo was third overall in Italy but first among EBC points-earning drivers. They even led the Ultimate points after Poland before sitting out the rest of the year.
Their 2026 season began with a crash at the Dakar Rally. The EBC kicks off in May with the Rallye TT Cuenca.
“I am no newcomer to the European Cup, but Cuenca is new territory,” Vanagas said. “We will have to go the extra mile to match the locals on their home turf.”
