Sara Price: Chasing Dakar, a new documentary series by Warner Bros. Discovery, is set for release on May 15.
All three 45-minute episodes will be immediately available on Discovery Channel in the Americas starting June 4 and Latin America on June 12, while each episode will be televised daily in Europe. TNT Sports 2 will air one episode each from May 15 to 17 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, while continental Europe and Asia get it on Eurosport 1 from June 8 to 10; HBO Max will also offer a simulcast.
Gillian Anderson, an Emmy Award-winning actress best known for starring in The X-Files, will narrate the miniseries.
“Being part of this documentary has given me the chance reflect on my journey to Defender Rally and my third Dakar entry,” said Price. “Motorsport has shaped my life in ways I’m still discovering, with the highs, the lows, the people who believed in me, and the lessons that I learnt the hard way. Sharing my story so openly is both humbling and motivating. I have sacrificed so much on my quest to win Dakar, which has made me push through the hard times and grateful for the good times.
“My hope is that viewers see not only the toughness of the Dakar Rally, but the resilience of the people behind it, and maybe even feel inspired to chase something they love with the same determination.”
As the name suggests, the series follows Price and Defender Rally’s efforts at the team’s maiden Dakar Rally in January. Her teammates Stéphane Peterhansel and Rokas Baciuška also receive focus to Price’s role as protagonist.
The first episode, titled “Nothing is Given” will cover Price’s career leading up to the 2026 Dakar. “Won’t Back Down” covers the first half of the race, then “A Race of Two Halves” for the second and final week.
“The Dakar Rally is known for its brutal and exhilarating races across some of the planet’s most inhospitable environments, pushing teams and drivers to the absolute limit,” offered WBD Sports Europe executive vice president Scott Young. “As a global motorsport broadcaster committed to shining a light on these stories, we’re excited to go beyond the race action.
“The story of Sara and the commitment of the Defender team to compete in one of the toughest races on earth is enthralling content and we’re delighted to be able to share this with fans.”
