Mārtiņš Sesks, the 2023 European Rally Championship runner-up, will dabble in cross-country rally for the first time at Baja Poland. He will drive the Viking Challenger, which he had previously tested at Nasser Racing Camp in Spain half a year ago.

“From there, we made a list of changes with some things and areas to work on,” Sesks explained. “Most of the things we have together as a whole team changed and made better. Very glad that this test was more about finding the performance and feeling and doing longer runs. It was a good step for us to find the pace that we could do the whole stint with a very good feeling.”

He wasn’t the only rally driver to test the Viking as SRT also enlisted Brandon Semenuk. The Viking made its racing debut at the Rally-Raid Portugal in March with Dakar winner Pau Navarro, where it retired.

Sesks has four ERC victories to his name, including a two-win campaign in 2023 as he finished second to Hayden Paddon for the title. The three-time Latvian national champion has also been competing in the WRC since 2018, finishing 35th overall at Rally Sweden in February.
