Hyperco, one of the top spring manufacturers for both pavement and off-road racing, will close up shop by the end of 2026.

Its parent MW Components was acquired by private equity firm American Securities in 2017, then sold to British industrial holding company Rosebank Industries plc in May. MW continues to produce springs across several fields and will likely fill the void created by Hyperco’s demise.

The Matthew Warren Spring plant in Logansport, Indiana, will close down at the conclusion of the year as well.

The company released the following statement on October 12:

We want to share an important update regarding Hyperco and provide notice about changes that will affect our business moving forward.

After careful consideration, the difficult decision has been made to wind down Hyperco operations, with business activities concluding by the end of 2026.

Hyperco has been part of the racing and performance community for many years. We are sincerely grateful to our customers, dealers, racers, and partners for the loyalty, trust, and support that have helped build the Hyperco brand.

Our focus over the coming months is to support our customers and partners by fulfilling commitments, managing available inventory, and providing as much notice and transparency as possible throughout the transition.

Effective immediately, we will no longer accept orders that require new production. We will continue to accept orders from existing finished-goods inventory and will make every effort to fulfill current open orders using available stock.

Because inventories of many popular products are limited, we encourage customers to review their anticipated needs and place any final orders as soon as practical. Our team remains available to discuss inventory availability and help identify products currently in stock.

As inventory levels change, we may make additional products available through a closeout program. We will share details as they become available.

We understand this news may be disappointing. Thank you for the confidence and support you have shown Hyperco over the years. It has been a privilege to serve the racing and performance community.

On the racing side, Hyperco is the sole supplier of coil-over springs for the NASCAR Cup Series’ Next Gen car. Every IndyCar Series team also utilizes Hyperco’s springs, meaning the company has been the Indianapolis 500-winning spring since 1965.

Hyperco is also the spring provider for RZR Factory Racing. The team’s rally raid partner Loeb FrayMédia Motorsport, which has won the Dakar Rally’s SSV class in back-to-back years, also utilizes Hyperco springs on its Polaris RZRs.

Other off-road clients include various short course and desert racing teams. Sara Price is one of the more notable customers, using it on her Can-Am Maverick R Rip & Dip Edition.

Of course, other manufacturers are likely to take advantage of Hyperco’s exit such as Eibach and Swift. The former is already a prominent name in the desert and is a Stadium Super Trucks race winner.
