The L’Oasis L’Original Classic is heading to Tunisia. On Sunday, Generation 4×4 Magazine reported the vintage rally raid is moving eastward for the 2026 race, ending a three-year stretch in Morocco, and will be held in tandem with RBI Sport’s Fenix Rally.

Gilles Girousse, who created the L’Oasis L’Original Classic as part of his Aventure Girousse company, is a veteran of the Fenix Rally’s sister race Rallye Breslau in Poland. Having competed at Breslau for 28 years, he finished sixth in the Extreme Car Open class at the latest edition in June.

Given his résumé and being close to RBI Sport director Alexander Kovatchev, it seemed sensible to join forces. Organized since 2021, the Fenix Rally is RBI’s only desert race and event outside of Europe. For 2026, it is scheduled for October 21–29.

For its first three races, the L’Oasis L’Original Classic was partnered with the Morocco Sand Express. Their 2025 race jointly took place on May 4–9, beginning in M’Hamid and running through Tazzarine before finishing in Merzouga.

Generation 4×4 Magazine noted competitors in 2026 will be split into five categories: vehicles made before 1985, prior to 1995, until 2005, an Open class for those after 2005, and a 2WD category. For 2025, there were only two divisions for vehicles built before 1989 and 2002.

Cars, bikes, trucks, and quads are all eligible.
