American Honda announced Thursday a three-year deal with the South Carolina Waterfowl Association in which the manufacturer will supply FourTrax ATVs and Pioneer UTVs to the organization, establish an ATV safety course, and provide an annual donation of $55,000.

The SWCA runs the largest wildlife education center in the United States. Since 2017, the WEC has received extensive donations of land and pledges to expand the premises. Said renovations have produced facilities like a dedicated observation tower, larger ponds for ducks and improving the surrounding infrastructure, fishing platforms, and shooting ranges.

“Supporting various forms of responsible outdoor recreation has long been a priority for Honda, so it’s a pleasure to team up with the SCWA,” American Honda Powersports director Jeremy McGuire stated. “The organization’s work with youth education, habitat restoration and conservation fundraising is vital to perpetuating and enhancing wildlife heritage, and our Pioneer side-by-sides and FourTrax ATVs will help to leverage those efforts.

“This partnership will also bolster the important connection that Honda already has with the state of South Carolina, where our side-by-side vehicles are produced.”

The FourTrax is Honda’s main utility quad, and comes in the 420cc Rancher and 518cc Foreman models. Likewise, the Pioneer 1000 is a utility vehicle side-by-side (as opposed to the Talon, their performance UTV) designed for work and rugged terrain; it features a 999cc motor and a towing capacity of 2,500 pounds.

Both will be used to educate on safely and properly operating off-road vehicles in nature.

“We’re proud to partner with Honda Power Sports & Products, a name synonymous with reliability and innovation in outdoor recreation,” SCWA CEO David Wielicki added. “Their support will help us expand our impact across the state, both in the field and through our youth education initiatives.”
