The 2026 KTM 690 Enduro R and KTM 690 SMC R were revealed Tuesday, both coming with various electronics upgrades.
Both models now come with a 4.2-inch thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display—TFT LCD—screen and a revised switchgear. Rider aids have also been added to the two bikes like Cornering ABS and Cornering MTC (Motorcycle Traction Control), while Dynamic Slip Adjust to modify traction control is in the Enduro R’s Rally Ride Mode. The Enduro R also features a new LED headlight and a USB-C charging port.
Like other bikes in the 2026 off-road lineup, some aesthetic changes have been made as well. The SMC R features what the company calls a “new, aggressive design” while the Enduro R’s bodywork is “ergonomically sharper” with “updated suspension components”. The latter also comes with a redesigned crankcase, clutch, and stator cover along with a revised oil system.
The two bikes use the LC4 engine, which has been updated as well.
“KTM is proud to introduce the next evolution of its LC4-powered legends – the 2026 KTM 690 ENDURO R and 2026 KTM 690 SMC R,” reads a statement from the marque. “Built for riders who live for the thrill, whether it’s carving through mountain roads or conquering remote trails, these two motorcycles offer bold styling, improved tech, and the best-in-class power of the world’s most ferocious single-cylinder platform.”
The 690s are the fourth series of off-road bikes unveiled by KTM since their return to full production in late July after the SX, XC, and EXC and XC-W. The Enduro R nd SMC R will be released to dealers in September.
