In February 2024, Carl Cox Motorsport announced they’re shuttering operations until Extreme E’s transition into Extreme H was complete. Nearly 20 months later, with the process almost wrapped up, they confirmed their return on Wednesday.

Timo Scheider and Klara Andersson will drive for the team in both the Extreme E Final Lap and Extreme H.

“Looking forward to working and meeting the teams again, as it has been very powerful and exciting to watch the racing, and a lot of fun too,” Cox stated. “It is very important to me to be involved with the legacy project, so back to the track, where Carl Cox Motorsport belongs.”

Cox is one of the most prominent house disc jockeys today, having won 16 DJ Awards and a plethora of other accolades for his work. A longtime racing fan, he has also overseen CCM since 2013.

The team mainly competes in motorcycle road racing such as the Isle of Man TT and British Superbike Championship. He also oversees the Carl Cox Motorsport Cup, a bike series in New Zealand.

In 2023, CCM expanded into Extreme E with Scheider sharing a car with Christine GZ. Lia Block took over GZ’s spot for the second half of the season. The team finished ninth in points with a best finish of third at the first Hydro X Prix event.

After that lone season, the team shut down the Extreme E division to focus on the switch to hydrogen.

Scheider, a two-time DTM champion and World Rallycross race winner, will return to CCM as both driver and team principal. Andersson races in World RX, finishing fourth in the 2025 standings.

The Andersson–Scheider duo reunites after doing the shortened 2024 Extreme E season for SUN Minimeal Team. SUN Minimeal had also announced plans to race in Extreme H.

“I’ve had the privilege of racing with Carl and the team before in Extreme E, and now to take on the brand-new Extreme H World Cup together in Saudi Arabia is an exciting new chapter,” said Scheider. “What really makes this team so special is the incredible positive energy that Carl brings and that flows through everyone. That spirit means a lot to me personally, and I truly believe it’s our recipe for success. I can’t wait to get back out there with this amazing crew and take on this new challenge together.”

Held in Qiddiya, Extreme E’s Final Lap will take place on October 4–5 followed by the inaugural Extreme H event on October 9–11.
