The Maxxis RAZR RAID+ tire had a successful debut at last week’s Baja Morocco, so much so that the entire inventory was quickly sold out for next week’s Rallye du Maroc. The company will continue producing 32-inch and 30″ models for the 2026 World Rally-Raid Championship and Baja Cups.

The tire was the culmination of two years of development in partnership with G Rally Team and Rio Seco Racing.

“The conditions in rally raids are always changing and racing is really one of the most important tests and a few that you can imagine,” explained Maxxis’ European Technical center manager Rudy Versteeg. “We are learning, we visit many races, we make many reports afterwards, but what we try to do now with Maxxis is try to make the best all-around tire possible. [One] that goes really well in the backyard, but there’s also a good tire for the rally raid.”

It made its debut at the Baja Morocco on the wheels of G Rally’s G-ECKO T3 cars. Puck Klaassen won a stage and finished third overall.

While Maxxis’ motorsports involvement is mainly in short course and desert racing, the Taiwanese company has been increasing its rally raid presence in recent times. In September, before the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal, Maxxis created a test course for teams to try out the RAZR RAID+.
