Kyle Chaney has had a very interesting 2025. On Sunday, he’ll add another chapter to his eventful year when he makes his World Rally-Raid Championship at the Rallye du Maroc, competing in the SSV class with a Can-Am Maverick R from South Racing.

In February, Chaney became the first UTV driver to win the King of the Hammers’ Race of Kings as his Maverick R beat the rock crawlers. Rally raids, of course, are a different beast from rock crawling but also a discipline where the Maverick R has been impressive.

Over the summer, he turned his focus toward Championship Off-Road. In June, he finished second at the Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run in one of the craziest finishes one could ever witness; his Pro 4 battled with eventual Pro 2 champion Keegan Kincaid to and across the finish, ending with Chaney’s truck stuck on Kincaid’s. He also placed sixth at the Red Bull Crandon World Cup.

With the short course season wrapped up, Chaney decided to team up with Can-Am once again to try out rally raid. His fellow Can-Am ambassador and KOH regular Hunter Miller, who raced the Dakar Rally for the first time in January, is also signed up for Morocco.

Jacob Argubright, a three-time Dakar bike starter, will be a W2RC navigator for the first time by his side. Argubright finished 12th in Rally2 at the 2025 Dakar.

“Definitely didn’t have this one (on) the bingo card for the year but I am loving it so far. Kyle’s a hell of driver and the current ‘King’ at KOH so no pressure on my side.” Argubright quipped.
