The Minotor CH1’s racing debut will have to wait a little longer. On Monday, ReulSport announced their new T3 car will not race the 2026 Dakar Rally as originally planned since more work needs to be done.
“Some dreams do come true. We are just proving it. What the entire Minotor Racing team has achieved in just a few months is a performance we are very proud of,” begins the announcement. “But we don’t want to confuse speed with haste. The Minotor is here, and it can already assert its ambitions in its category.
“However, its development and some settings are not yet at the level we have set for ourselves. Out of respect for our team, our partners and the crews who have already chosen to place their trust in us, we have taken the decision to postpone our first participation in the Dakar Rally.
“Don’t worry, the adventure goes on and you will hear more from us very soon. Thank you for your support.”
The Minotor is a hybrid light prototype developed for the T3.U subcategory of the Challenger class. The team hoped to field two cars at Dakar with Stéphane Sarrazin and Luís Portela Morais as drivers, which would’ve been the former’s first Dakar after an extensive career in sports cars.
A prototype was on display at the Rallye du Maroc in October.
