Polaris is breaking new ground. The company revealed the Polaris RZR Pro R Ultra Edition on Thursday, the first ever UTV to feature factory-implemented active sway bar links.
The sway bar links are operated through the DYNAMIX DVS suspension system, which allows each wheel to move independently. In doing so, the suspension can twist and bend against uneven terrain. They are also electronically controlled and hydraulic locking. DYNAMIX runs through 12 suspension control channels.
By comaparison, standard sway bars are disconnected and either lock or unlock.
The four links can be operated in locked and unlocked settings, or in semi-active mode that unlocks and locks 200 times per second.
“DYNAMIX DVS sets a new benchmark for the off-road industry,” Polaris OV president Reid Wilson stated. “We took the industry’s most capable platform and made it even better. By applying key learnings from our race program, we’ve introduced smarter suspension that delivers maximum articulation, for more control in any environment.”
The RZR Pro R Ultra Edition is heavily based on the RZR Pro R, but comes with new features like a 10.4″ vertical touchscreen display and heated seats. Only 500 will be produced in two- and four-seat configurations; the former has an MSRP of $46,999 while the latter starts at $50,999.
