Lorenzo Santolino has raced a Sherco his entire career in rally raid, and that will remain the case for the next two years after signing a contract extension on Friday.
“A key member of the Sherco family for the past 13 years, Lorenzo’s commitment and fighting spirit remain stronger than ever,” reads a comment from Sherco Rally Factory Team.
After starring in motocross and enduro with KTM, with whom he won the 2010 Junior Enduro World Championship, Santolino joined Sherco when he decided to try out rallies. Never has he been on anything but a Sherco 450 when doing a rally, including every Dakar Rally since debuting in 2019.
At the 2025 Dakar, Santolino scored Sherco’s first stage win in the race since 2014 when he claimed Stage 3. His 2026 race was cut short by a crash after two stages.
Santolino has also won the 2024 TransAnatolia Rally Raid and 2025 Baja Aragón for the team; the latter was Sherco’s third win at Aragón but first since 2019. While not racing full time in the World Rally-Raid Championship, his best run in the series was a fourth in the 2022 Andalucía Rally.
