The fifth Rally Jameel, an all-women’s rally raid in Saudi Arabia, has been postponed amid the ongoing war in the region. Organizers did not immediately give a new date.

“In light of the current circumstances in the region, this edition of Rally Jameel been postponed to a later date,” stated the organization.

Saudi Arabia is not directly involved in the fighting that began in late February when the United States and Israel launched joint airstrikes on Iran, killing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. However, the Saudi military has had to keep its head on a swivel as Iran retaliated with drone and missile strikes on American allies and neighboring countries in the region.

Nearly every country in the Middle East, the broader West Asia, and even in the Mediterranean have reported Iranian missiles crossing into or landing on their territory. At least two have been killed by the strikes in Saudi Arabia, a U.S. ally.

F1’s Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, respectively scheduled for April 12 and 19, are still on the schedule as of this article’s publication but the FIA is keeping tabs on the matter. The Rally Jameel was also slated to run in April before its postponement.

The inaugural Oman International Baja, a potential candidate race for the FIA Middle East Baja Cup, remains scheduled for March 26–28. While officially a neutral country in the crisis as it aims to be a mediator, Oman has also been hit by Iranian strikes.
